On the 14 th September, Attaché, Mr. Ralph Loren Eisendecher, delivered a statment highlighting the Order of Malta’s WASH programmes, including nearly 500 household toilets rehabilitated at the Nyaka Valley Refugee Settlement in Uganda and two solar-powered water systems built by Malteser International in South Sudan, serving over 20,000 refugees. It asked the Special Rapporteur what sanitation strategies he would recommend for populations affected by conflict-related displacement.
