On June 17th, the Permanent Mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta with CIOMAL Foundation of the Order of Malta organised a side-event at the United Nations of Geneva “From segregation to justice: addressing historical and continuing human rights violations against persons affected by leprosy”.

Discussions during the side-event focused on key human rights issues affecting persons affected by leprosy, including historical discrimination, stigma, truth, justice and reparations, as well as the importance of preserving memory and ensuring their full participation in decision-making processes.
