On 19 June 2026, the Council discussed transforming food systems for a safe climate and health for all, examining the growing impacts of climate risks on human health, food security and environmental resilience.

Counselor, Gregory Tutton delivered a statement expressing the Order of Malta’s concern over the role of food systems in climate-related impacts on vulnerable communities amid ongoing conflicts. It highlighted Malteser International’s “Agro-Humanitarian” projects in Lebanon, comprising 10 project sites supporting sustainable food production with local farming communities, and called on the Council to embed climate risk resilience in public policy and international law, while reaffirming the Order’s commitment to expanding agro-humanitarian innovation worldwide.
