The Grand Hospitaller of the Sovereign Order of Malta, H.E. Dr. Fra’ Alessandro de Franciscis, led the Order’s Delegation to 77th World Health Assembly (WHA77) entitled “All for Health, and Health for All” in Geneva.
The Grand Hospitaller addressed the the Assembly during the general debate, he concluded his intervention by saying: “But of all diseases existing and foreseeable War remains the most terrible and absolutely preventable. The name of the remedy is Peace. And only Peace can bring Health for All!”.
Fra’ Alessandro de Franciscis also held important bi-lateral meetings with Ministers of Health of various countries where the Order is active, such as Togo, Palestine, Benin, Senegal, Lebanon, etc.
The Grand Hospitaller met with the Director-General, Dr. Tedros, and Deputy Director-General, Dr. Ryan, of the WHO, as well as the Secretary-General of the IFRC, the Vice-President of the ICRC.
