Annual Panel Discussion – The Adverse Impacts of Climate Change on Human Rights
13/07/2026

On 19 June 2026, the Council held its annual panel discussion on the adverse impacts of climate change on human rights, focusing on access to development finance for climate action.

Counselor, Gregory Tutton delivered a statement expressing the Order of Malta’s concern over climate change’s impact on least developed countries with limited access to capital markets. Drawing on Malteser International’s work in over one hundred states, it highlighted how climate change undermines food security, healthcare and drives migration and displacement, and called for greater investment in resilient infrastructure and continued partnership to reduce humanitarian risks at their source.
