On Thursday, 26 February 2026, the Sovereign Order of Malta attended the Interactive Dialogue on the High Commissioner’s Report on the Occupied Palestinian Territory. First Secretary Mr. Yannick Galeazzi intervened on behalf of the Order, pointing out the systematic Human Rights violations.

In the statement, the Order expressed deep concern about the HR situation in the OPTs, highlighting the increase in violence and movement restrictions in the West Bank, which are affecting humanitarian activities. It also called for the protection of the freedom of religion and access to holy sites in the affected sites. Finally, the statement urged for the immediate opening of the borders to allow for humanitarian assistance to enter Gaza, urged all parties to respect International Humanitarian Law and the decisions of the International Court of Justice, all reaffirmed its support for a peaceful coexistence between Palestinians and Israelis.
