Ralph Loren Eisendecher, Attaché, intervened during the High Commissioner global update followed by a presentation of reports on OHCHR activities in Colombia, Guatemala and Honduras during the 55th Human Rights Council session on the 4th of March, 2024.
During his statement, the counsellor praised the report, summarising 2023 activities and recommendations for highlighting cooperation with the Colombian government and steps towards addressing national challenges. Key initiatives of the report include the National Development Plan focusing on water’s role and inclusive policymaking.
Furthermore, Eisendecher highlighted the Sovereign Order of Malta’s efforts in Colombia, particularly through Malteser International. The efforts were spotlighted for fostering dialogue and improving healthcare access in rural communities, and for a project enhancing food security and climate resilience, benefiting over 9,000 individuals.
Finally, Eisendecher urged to continued governmental progress and looked forward to further updates.
