HRC 55th session – Statement ID on right to food

Mr. Gregory Tutton, Counsellor, intervened in the Human Rights Council during the Interactive Dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on the right to food on the 7th of March 2024.

The Order of Malta emphasises the critical link between climate change and the right to food, highlighting the need for sustainable food system innovation to address the challenges posed by environmental degradation and climate change.

Through its worldwide relief agency, Malteser International, the Order is actively working in various countries to mitigate the impact of climate change on food security, especially for smallholder farmers.

The Order commits to collaborating with the international community to ensure food security and share sustainable agricultural practices.
