57th Session- Statement by Jean-François Kammer on the enjoyment of all human rights by older persons 

 

On September 12th 2024, Deputy Permanent Observer Jean-François Kammer addressed the Human Rights Council 57th Session during the Interactive Dialogue on the enjoyment of all human rights by older persons.

Deputy Permanent Observer Kammer commended the report by the Independent Expert and supports her recommendations, highlighting that the guarantee of full enjoyment of human rights is of utmost importance for elderly people, including the right to avoid discrimination. He also suggested the establishment of legal protection standards modelled of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, reiterating the importance of dignifying elderly persons.
