On 23rd June 2025, Mr. Friedemann Eder, Counsellor, intervened on behalf of the Sovereign Order of Malta in the Interactive Dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on Internally Displaced Persons. During his statement, he outlined the alarming rise in violations of the rights of internally displaced persons. Counsellor Eder highlighted the commitment of Malteser International to alleviating the suffering of those affected, through healthcare provision, and psychosocial support. To conclude, he called for the greater recognition of faith-based actors in local, national, and international displacement strategies.
