On 20th June 2025, Mr. Friedemann Eder, Counsellor, intervened on behalf of the Sovereign Order of Malta in the Interactive Dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on Migrants. During his statement, he welcomed the report’s emphasis on State responsibility, the right to truth, and the urgent need for effective investigative mechanisms. Building on the work of Malteser International, Counsellor Eder advocated for the integration of cultural, religious, and spiritual needs into international identification and repatriation protocols. To conclude, he reiterated the Order’s commitment to all efforts that uphold human dignity.
