On 11th April 2025, H.E. Archbishop Ettore Balestrero, Apostolic Nuncio, Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations and other International Organisations in Geneva, was admitted to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta as Conventual Chaplain Grand Cross ad honorem.
The Investiture was presided by H.E. Martin von Walterskirchen zu Wolfsthal, President of the Swiss Association of the Order of Malta, on behalf of H.M.E.H. the Prince and Grand Master Fra’ Jonh Dunlap.
The Ceremony took place in the Chapel of the Permanent Mission of the Holy See in Geneva and was attended by H.E. Ambassador Marie-Thérèse Pictet-Althann, Permanent Observer, as well as other diplomats of the Order of Malta’s Permanent Mission in Geneva.
