On 29 September 2026, the Human Rights Council held a general debate under item 7, addressing the human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

The Mission delivered a statement, given by Mr. Yannick Galeazzi, First Secretary, highlighting the Order of Malta’s clinic in Gaza City, opened in June with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and the difficulties facing its maternity hospital in Bethlehem amid closed checkpoints and settler violence. It warned of the threat to the Christian community of the Holy Land, citing the siege of Taybeh, and called for respect of international humanitarian law, an end to forced displacement, and implementation of the ceasefire.
