World Day of Peace 2025: Multireligious service organised by the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the UN and other international organisations in Geneva

On 30 January, the Permanent Mission of the Holy See organised a multireligious service in celebration of the World Day of Peace at the church of St. Nicolas de Flüe in Geneva at the invitation of H.E. Archbishop Ettore Balestrero, Apostolic Nuncio and Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the UN and other international organisations in Geneva and Monseigneur Riyyan Mendoza, Deputy Permanent Observer of the Holy See. The following representatives of different religions addressed the assembly: His Eminence Cardinal Kurt Koch, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity; Rabbi Nathan Alfred of the Liberal Jewish Community of Geneva; Venerable Tawalama Dhammika, Director of the Geneva International Buddhist Centre; Mrs. Chantal Eberlé, President of the Protestant Church of Geneva; H.E. Metropolitan Maxime of Switzerland; and Mr. Mohamed Levrak, Deputy Director of the Islamic Cultural Foundation of Geneva and President of the Interreligious Platform of Geneva. Also in attendance was Abbott Jean-Claude Dunant, Vicar-general of the diocese of Lausanne, Geneva and Fribourg.
