The 59th regular session of the Human Rights Council is in session between the 16 June to 9 July. On 17 June 2025, H.E. Ambassador Pictet-Althann intervened on behalf of the Sovereign Order of Malta in the interactive dialogue on the yearly report of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. In her statement, Ambassador Pictet-Althann welcomed the report of the High Commissioner and expressed the Order’s commitment to human dignity and protection consistent with international human rights frameworks. She hightlighted the Order’s activities in South Sudan, Ukraine, and Lebanon, but expressed dismay at the inability of humanitarian aid to reach Gaza in the last three months. The Ambassador called on all parties to respect International Humanitarian Law.
